Hey Everyone!

Have you seen Youth in Oregon yet? It premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last spring and opened in theaters nationwide earlier this month. (It also is available on iTunes and on-demand.) My original song, Fever, is featured in the movie, which stars Frank Langella, Billy Crudup, Christina Applegate and Josh Lucas. If you're looking for an intense family drama/comedy, check it out!

Otherwise, here's what I've been up to:

In December, I spent two weeks alone in a cabin in the Adirondack Mountains writing and recording my next full-length album. I CANNOT WAIT to share this with you. Stay tuned for updates coming soon.

I headed out to Anaheim, CA in January for the NAMM show, where I was honored to speak on a panel hosted by The Women's International Music NetworkWomen in the Music Industry Sound Off.

Also, after a brief hiatus from playing shows, I booked some dates for this Spring:

Lastly, I'm proud to announce that Female Frequency (the women's music collective I co-founded in 2015) will be releasing new music very soon! Our tracks are completely female-produced from start to finish, from writing and performance through mixing and mastering. Click here to check out our cover of Dolly Parton's 9 to 5produced by yours truly and featuring Claire London on vocals. Our next single will be released on March 8, which is International Women's Day.

As always, thank you for your support, and please feel free to connect with me at any of the links below.

Sending love ~ XoXo ~ Snow Angel

"Losing Face" named one of The Electricity Club's Top 30 Songs of 2016

I'm honored that "Losing Face" is among The Electricity Club's picks for 2016's best songs!!

"The project of songwriter and producer Julie Kathryn, the haunting tension of ‘Losing Face’ accentuates a variety of electronic and organic colours. A muted chop’ n’ chuck provides the percussive backbone while an eerie soundscape is steadily configured as Kathryn succumbs to lust. “You’re different when you’re on top of me… how I hate the state I’m in” she paradoxically reflects, as bubbling detuned synth swirls and acoustic guitar penetrate the foreboding atmosphere in the vein of ‘Felt Mountain’ era GOLDFRAPP."

I AM SNOW ANGEL wins Remix Contest for Mike Doughty's "I Can't Believe I Found You In That Town"

Mike has reviewed all of the submissions and has picked his three favorite remixes from I Am Snow Angel, Herb Strike, and Hänk B. Mike shared his thoughts on I Am Snow Angel's remix sharing he "especially dug the swirly, sad, nebulous section at the top, with the Mellotron-like sound wafting back and forth".
